Skills & Apps
BlinkLife’s sidebar gives you a set of purpose-built app spaces, each powered by your AI companion. Skills extend what your companion can do within those spaces.
What’s in the sidebar
Section titled “What’s in the sidebar”| Group | Apps |
|---|---|
| (top) | Home, Chats |
| Workspace | Tasks, Projects, Notes, Pages |
| Capture | Listener |
| AI | My AI, Memory, Skills, Brains, Diary, Pulse |
You can show or hide some apps in Settings → Tools — the sliders icon next to the Workspace heading takes you straight there.
The sidebar can be collapsed to icons if you want more room; your choice is remembered.
Skills
Section titled “Skills”Skills are reusable behaviours that change how your companion responds in a given context — a polished writing style, a specific framework, a personality, or domain expertise. Browse, toggle, and create skills in the Skills section of the sidebar.
Creating a custom skill
Section titled “Creating a custom skill”Click Create Skill and fill in:
- Icon and Name — how it shows up in the list (e.g. 🍱 Meal Planner)
- Category — Custom, Tools, Writing, Listening, or Wellness
- What should your companion do? — a plain-language prompt describing the behaviour. We polish it once you save.
- Connect a Brain (optional) — give the skill grounding from a Brain so it draws on your own knowledge
You can edit every part of a skill after creating it, including the polished prompt.
Toggle skills on or off from the list. Active skills are applied automatically when relevant to the conversation.
If the skills list ever fails to load, you’ll see an error with a retry rather than an empty page.
