Voice Not Working?
Microphone permission denied
The most common cause. Your browser or OS is blocking mic access.
On Chrome (desktop):
- Click the lock icon in the address bar
- Find Microphone and set it to Allow
- Reload the page and try again
On macOS:
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone
- Make sure your browser is listed and enabled
- Restart your browser
The mic activates but nothing happens
- Check your speaker/headphone volume
- Look for text appearing in the chat — if there’s no transcript, the mic isn’t picking up audio
- Try speaking closer to your mic or in a quieter environment
- Reload the page — this resolves most temporary connection issues
Transcription is inaccurate
- Use a headset or earbuds with a built-in mic
- Reduce background noise
- Speak at a natural pace
Browser recommendations
Voice conversations use your microphone and work in any modern browser. However, Chrome is strongly recommended for the full experience — particularly the Listener feature, which captures system audio (meeting sounds, not just your mic). System audio capture requires Chrome 105+.
If voice isn’t working, try switching to Chrome before troubleshooting further.
Voice cuts out mid-conversation
Usually a network issue:
- Switch to a wired connection or move closer to your router
- Disable a VPN if you’re using one
- Close other browser tabs using audio
