BlinkLife Bridge
Free desktop app
Your filesBlinkLife Bridge is a lightweight desktop app that pairs with your BlinkLife account and lets your companion search and understand your personal files — Obsidian vaults, Bear notes, Kindle highlights, and any folders you choose. Everything stays on your computer: your files are indexed locally, and only the small snippets relevant to your question are sent to BlinkLife. Once paired, your files appear as a searchable Local Brain.
Download
Section titled “Download”Pick the build for your computer. These links always point to the current version — install once and the Bridge keeps itself up to date automatically.
For Macs with an M1/M2/M3/M4 chip (most Macs from 2020 onward).
For older Intel-based Macs.
For 64-bit Windows.
Not sure which Mac you have? Click the Apple menu → About This Mac. If it mentions “Apple M1/M2/M3/M4”, choose Apple Silicon; if it says “Intel”, choose Intel.
Pairing your computer
Section titled “Pairing your computer”Downloading installs the app; pairing is what connects it to your account.
- Install and open the Bridge app on your computer.
- In BlinkLife, go to Settings → Connections and find the BlinkLife Bridge card.
- Click Already installed? Pair this device — BlinkLife shows an 8-character pairing code.
- Enter that code in the Bridge app. The card switches to Connected and shows your file and snippet counts.
Once paired, enable the Local Brain in Settings → Tools to let your companion search your files.
Settings inside the Bridge app
Section titled “Settings inside the Bridge app”The Bridge app itself is where you choose what gets indexed.
Connectors
Section titled “Connectors”Turn on a connector and the Bridge keeps that source searchable. All are off by default.
| Connector | What it does | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Obsidian | Indexes your Obsidian vault in place | Auto-detects your vault |
| Bear | Indexes your Bear notes | macOS only |
| Kindle | Imports your Kindle highlights | Reads your Kindle’s clippings file |
Folders
Section titled “Folders”- Add Folder — pick any folder on your computer to index (including cloud-synced folders like Dropbox or iCloud).
- Remove Folder — stop indexing a folder at any time.
Other options
Section titled “Other options”- Light / Dark theme — a toggle in the top corner; remembers your choice.
- Advanced — an expandable section showing indexing status, storage used, and your current version.
Versions and updates
Section titled “Versions and updates”There’s a single, always-current release. The download links above are permanent — they always give you the latest build. After installing, the Bridge checks for updates on its own and prompts you when a new version is ready, so you don’t need to come back here to upgrade.
Disconnecting
Section titled “Disconnecting”You can unpair from either side: click Disconnect on the Bridge card in Settings → Connections, or Disconnect inside the Bridge app. Your local files stop being searchable from BlinkLife immediately — and since they were only ever indexed locally, nothing needs to be deleted from the cloud.
